ALIBI - the old ladies

Inspector: "I just wanted to ask you a few questions about Colonel Townsend. I suppose you that he died - was killed - last night?"

1st old lady: "We both were here."

2nd old lady: "Yes, we were here most evenings. Last night we played until                             nearly midnight."

Inspector: "Did you notice what time it was when Colonel Townsend left?"

1st old lady: "It was about half past ten, wasn't it, Miss Graham?"

2nd old lady: "Yes, it was."

Inspector: "Did the Colonel leave the club alone?"

2nd old lady: "Oh, no, he always walks home with Mister Beedie, the vicar,                              you know. They often play together on Thursday evenings."

1st old lady: "Yes, they were playing together last night."

Inspector: "Thank you ladies, You were very helpful."
