Nobody can believe it. In our small country town there is a cruel murderer. One of our quiet inhabitants has been found murdered in Field Lane. Yesterday the postman wanted to bring a few letters to this person. When the postman arrived at his house he saw him lying dead on the ground and called the police. Today the policemen have found out that the sixty-year-old man was murdered. There are two explanations for this action: The dead man has fallen victim to a murder with robbery. That could be a reason because an empty wallet was found beside the dead body. But that could simply be a blind clue in order to hide another action behind it. The dead man might also have been involved in some shady business and one of his partners got him out of the way. A leather glove was found next to the corpse. That could be of importance leading the police to the murderer. Up to now the police do not have any traces. The policemen know that the killed man was hit over the head from behind dying immediately. The murderer must have used a blunt weapon. The inhabitants of Great Stapleton are afraid but the policemen do their best in order to arrest the person being responsible for this crime. The police ask the population for help. Any person who watched strange things last Thursday evening is asked to report this to the Great Stapleton police station. Our newspaper is going to inform you of the further events.
