The first Chinese people moved to America in the 1870´s. Only in this year arrived 123201 people in San Francisco. Later came round about 20000 Chinese immigrants per decade to America.
A growth of immigrants was between 1940 and 1950. This is to lead back on the Japanese Occupation which started in the year 1931 and spreaded more and more over China. The Chinese were afraid of the Japanese and began to emigrate.
The first emigrants, which came in the 1870´s, moved to America because of the consequences of the "Lorcha-War" between 1855 to 1858. The contract of "Tientsin" was broken. Emphatic Peking was occupied in the year 1858. 1860 the coastal-province was relenquished and the french consul was murdered in the year 1870. The French protectoration was 1885 accepted by China and 1886 Burma got to Great Britain.
1894 was the beginning of the war between Japan and China.
All this were reasons for the emigration of Chinese to America.
